board members:
Roxie Speth is the Founder and visionary of the Uptown Market. She is a ceramicist, painter, and digital artist. Raised in Iowa, she moved to Minneapolis in 2006 and has been in love ever since.
Brendan Jordan is the CARAG liaison for Uptown Market. He has been a driving force behind establishing the Market. Uptown Market would never have left the ground without his expertise. He is a Program Manager at the Great Plains Institute.
Shaun Laden is the Volunteer Recruiter for Uptown Market. He is a community organizer with several years of Minneapolis-based experience and was a Canvassing Director and Field Organizer for Keith Ellison in 2006 and 2008.
Kate Herr is the Public Relations and Media Manager for Uptown Market. She is a Copywriter at PR agency Karwoski + Courage in Downtown Minneapolis.
Abby Jensen is a Project Designer at James Dayton Design. She has been active in the structural design of the Uptown Market and is the interim Treasurer.
Jess Horwitz is the Lead Vendor Recruiter and Marketing Manager for Uptown Market. She was born and raised in Minneapolis.
Megan Gamble is the Chair of the Uptown Market. She is a feminist who has worked in politics and community organizing since she moved to Minneapolis in 2006.
Patrick Phenow was content as a regular volunteer until someone told him he was a board member. He is a recent graduate of the planning program at the Humphrey Institute. Also, he makes neckties.
Laura Hovi is music chair for the Uptown Market. She is a masage therapist/music promoter/jane-of-all-trades and could not love Minneapolis more.
Jake Freeberg is the webmaster for the Uptown Market. He is a freelance web developer based in the Whittier neighborhood.
